Bacterial Vaginitis Symptoms
Bacterial vaginitis symptoms can sometimes mimic other viruses, however a pap smear will detect if it is HPV.
Burning and itching, swelling of the vulva, and excessive vaginal discharge with a foul odor are indicative of this condition. Vagina examination and discharge analysis are done to diagnose the disease. Do not douche a few days before a doctor visit as it may hide the signs of the disease.

It is considered the most common type of vaginal infection with about 10-40% of women getting affected at a given time. The condition may be treated quickly, yet results in pelvic inflammatory disease, infections, and other complications if not treated.
